Mother Meera Society

In 1972, a small group of men and women from Quebec heard about the existence of a young girl in India endowed with remarquable spiritual qualities. Through the graciousness of Mr. Reddy, the uncle of the young girl, the group met in India the now worldwide known and beloved Mother Meera. During this first meeting, the group from Quebec discovered that the young girl in question was much more precious that they could have ever imagined.

Inspired by an ardent desire to make accessible and known to a wide public the Light and Work of Mother Meera, upon returning home in Quebec, they created, in 1980, a non-profit corporation: the Mother Meera Society.

Between September 1979 and December 1981, Mother Meera, Adilakshmi, and Mr. Reddy visited Canada three times, their combined stays totaling almost a year. Our hopes were to see Mother Meera's Work in Occident be pursued from Canada, however it was in Germany that Mother Meera established herself permanently.

At the time, Mother Meera already proceeded to Light Descents on the 26th of each month, day of her birth. During the year that followed her departure, Mother Meera dedicated several Light Descents to Canada on these dates: February 14, April 15, July 14, August 12, September 12, October 28 and December 26.

For years, the Mother Meera Society organized meditations open to all throughout the year, making it possible for large numbers of people to participate in the integration of the Forces at Play through selflessness, during these 18 Descents.

The Society disseminated information about Mother Meera's Total Transformation Work in Canada, as well as France and North Africa.

Books and brochures were published, and quarterly bulletins were sent by the Society, thus maintaining alive the contact with everyone touched by Her Work, even in Mother Meera's absence.

Mother Meera made another brief trip to Quebec in 1990. During her much awaited visit, the Mother Meera Society organized darshans in Montreal.

Since 2007, Mother Meera has made regular trips to North America and the Mother Meera Society has organized darshans throughout Canada.

The objective of the Mother Meera Society to acquire land or a property to build a permanent Darshan Hall is now reality.

The Mother Meera Society bought a wonderful property in Port Colborne close to Niagara Falls in Ontario: a 15 acre land in a bucolic setting with a 8850 feet square building, a place of retreat, contemplation and reflection, a place to unify the heart and the spirit.

Despite the establishment of a permanent Darshan Hall and Retreat Center in Canada, Mother Meera will continue to travel across Canada to give Her darshan.

The Mother Meera Society continues to act upon its mandate to broaden its activities in the community, helping anyone who aspires to improve their wellbeing.

The Mother Meera Society's administrators and those helping in the organization of the darshans do it on a voluntary basis.
